In August, Hillwood Communities completed nearly two miles of roadway improvements in Manvel, valued at approximately $13 million. The enhancements of Pollard Boulevard and Del Bello Boulevard provide an alternate route to bypass the congested intersection of State Highway 6 and State Highway 288.
Supporting the Growth of Valencia and Beyond
This infrastructure project is not just about improving traffic flow; it’s about supporting the broader community. The project was approved as part of Hillwood’s commitment to developing Valencia, our second Houston-area community. According to Russell Bynum, General Manager of Hillwood Communities in Houston, the infrastructure phasing plan was designed to enhance area mobility for the entire community, not just Valencia residents.
“Access will be boosted to nearby schools and save valuable travel time for commuters in and around the Manvel area,” Bynum stated. With the future Alvin ISD elementary school site located within Valencia, these improvements will also play a crucial role in supporting the district’s continued growth, which averages nearly 5% annually.

Manvel Mayor Dan Davis emphasized the importance of such partnerships in managing the city’s rapid growth. “With our unprecedented growth, developing communities like Valencia and the new Manvel Town Center, infrastructure is at the center of a strong future for Manvel,” Davis said.
